One week? No problem!

So, I lied. It’s been a week and no review of headphones. And… there still is no review. Look one up if you need it so bad! D< Nah, actually, I’ll probably just write one over April break.

Speaking of April break, I have one! And I’m glad, because I hear some schools don’t get a break in April (which I assume is spring break… I don’t know why some schools wouldn’t get this). Hopefully I’ll be back up to speed soon afterward. Provided I get a nice, uninterrupted, totally lazy vacation from the world! I may not being going anywhere, but that doesn’t mean I can’t act like I am. I may have lost Mexico, but hope isn’t completely lost yet.

I am taking driving lessons in order to get my permit over the break, so I suppose I’ll have to move a few muscles. And speaking of driving lessons, I need to see the nurse at my high school tomorrow in order to get my eyes examined. If I don’t, I can’t take the lessons, and I can’t get my permit. Sure, it’s only the permit, and I’m not one to be riled up by the thought of driving (i.e. crashing, and having little sense of direction), but I should probably get it now and get it over with so I can get my real license at 17 and 18.

But this post isn’t really about break or my driver’s license. It’s about postmodernism and how awesome postmodernism is.

I’m a huge fan of ambiguity. I love philosophical ideas, and what postmodernism has to bring to literature. I adore how it asks the reader to make up their own damn mind for once instead of outright explaining it to them as if the reader were a baby who needed to be spoon-fed to get a message out of the book. What you get out of it is what the book means, and nobody can tell you otherwise.

Postmodernism tends to screw with reality and make statements that are nonsensical - and stick with them! My absolute favorite line from a critical essay on postmodernism is, "The world is meaningless? Let’s not pretend art can make meaning then, let’s just play with nonsense." You can see this quote on the top of my blog, too. I’ll probably be changing that quote periodically now for fun.

…hmm. Considering that I just fell asleep on my keyboard, literally, I think I’ll continue this rambling along with other things tomorrow.
