With only ten days left, Jason chooses not to write! Why?

- Two tests tomorrow, and an essay returning.

…that’s pretty much it. And that I’m damn tired and my arms have been hurting all day. Hurting arms, extreme fatigue, and the need to study for hours and hours don’t make for a good writing day. Good night, folks, and sweet dreams.

I did not hit 50k today, but for good reason. I stood on a line at 6am, waited until 10am, and god something precious and kickass: The Nintendo Wii console. I played with it until I got a massive headache, and then I realized that I had homework as well. So I did the homework as fast as I could in order to at least get in my minimum 2000 words per day, even if it wouldn’t get me to 50,000.

But I forgive myself. The Wii is awesome enough for that.

I’m not finished yet, but if I don’t post what I’ve got I’ll surely explode. ;) Really I need to stick it in front of myself to know where to go next. I know where I want to end up, but I want to move a certain direction to get there. I don’t know if I can, or if I should, and I need to figure that out.

EDIT: I’ve got a pretty good idea of where to go. I just have to transition the omniscience of the narrator back to Greg Walters’s mind, and out of his wife’s.

EDIT2: Got it going good! Completed my expected 7500 words for the day. Tomorrow I hit 50k and bask in my glory. But the story doesn’t end there, so I will press on still! The goal is around 100k, but the story may very well end at 80 or 70k.

I don’t know which word counter to believe: NaNo’s or Word’s. Since Word’s is on the generous side by three words, I think I’ll trust that one. Especially since I’ve upgraded to Office 2007 permanently, which keeps track of word count as you type. That has to be one of my favorite features of Office ’07. That and the new file type, .docx, that cuts the old .doc file size in half.

For those only halfway through their novel, I salute you for keeping up. For those people ahead like I am, and even finished, awesome job. I might write more later and add onto this day’s writing, but I’m also posting it here early for backup purposes. If I do choose to write again tonight, it will probably be another thousand words.

As much as it absolutely pains me to say this, no writing was done today. I had planned to write 4000 words, but time was not on my side. I was given an excruciatingly large amount of homework tonight. In fact, I’m not even sure I’ve done it all after working from 4pm to 10:45pm. Okay, I admit – I got 100 words done today. Go me.

30,000 will be tomorrow. This is just a mental note to myself. I can’t afford to go any more days not writing.

EDIT: I realized that if I had five minutes before I went to bed to try and get software on my palm pilot, then I had time to write 2000 words. So I did, and finished right on time for the end of the day, too.
