I lied. He’s not in Cydia just yet, but will probably be there by the middle of tomorrow’s writing. Christ, this is turning out to be longer than I anticipated! I’ll have to work overtime to finish it during November – Ford’s monologue isn’t even complete in today’s writing.

Tomorrow will be the day Graham enters Cydia. You can already see the fruits of Cydian technology present at the end of last night’s writing and all of tonight’s entry. The local climax will also happen tomorrow, with a hopefully enticing and informative monologue by a very depressed President Ford.

I did my double day, and am approaching the local climax at the story’s middle. All I can say is… holy ****. I’m shivering, I think I’ve scared myself by writing my own story. I hope I don’t have nightmares about this stuff. And I hope you don’t, either, though I’m sure I’m not a good enough writer to scare anybody reading this story. Unless I am, which would be cool.

So, I didn’t get to do that double day. I could, but I’d probably be up till 3am – so for now it’s more prison adventures. Once I hit 50k action will start rising quicker and quicker; Graham will discover secrets about the Black District that prisoners “like him” aren’t supposed to know… all leading up to his inevitable confrontation with the President and his venture into Cydia. You’ll see why he ventures into Cydia later – but I’ll hint now that it won’t be to get away from Talos, and it won’t be against his will either.

Tomorrow’s a nice, free day. I think I’m going to do a double day tomorrow and hit 50,000 – since halfway through the novel DEFINITELY won’t be happening there!

Ahh, and now it gets interesting in the “paradise” city of Lanford. It’s all rising action from here! Though there’s a nice local climax in today’s writing.

I completely zoned out while writing this, which is exciting – it means I’m getting very absorbed in my writing. I’ve finally began to develop the motif I’ve wanted to since the beginning, and it doesn’t look like the story is going to move out of talos anytime soon. We’ll see how things go, but for now just keep reading if you’re enjoying the story! :D

In addition, I’ve been reading The Time Machine by HG Wells since a few days ago, and am over half finished with it, and I mut say I’m really in love with the steampunk atmosphere right now. I don’t want it to go away! But I’ve got big plans for Ames, so you’ll just have to keep reading and see what she turns out to be. By the way, if you haven’t noticed, most major characters that stick around get their names from early 20th century and late 19th century inventors and engineers. Yeah, there was a guy named Wheat. Go figure!

After meeting the crew of the Underground Railroad Station A and learning where the world of Talos gets its power – the Carnot Engine – Graham is introduced to the true horrors of Lanford when Wheat takes him out at night to witness a knight beating and arresting an entire family with minimal effort – but then an advanced technology appears that even Wheat has never seen before.

After drinking two bottles of Bawls Guarana energy soda, I think this was the fastest 3333 words I’ve ever written. I’m in shock that I’m done before midnight! At any rate, Graham is getting a taste of Lanford, but his sweet surprise won’t last for long – by tomorrow or the next day the Underground Railroad in Lanford will get busted, and he’ll be stuck with a bunch of the blame… but have an opening to explore the strange and advanced technology used in his capture.

Lanford, the city of cities, the hope of hopes, the end of days! Graham arrives in what will soon become his worst nightmare, and his greatest challenge of all time. But for now, he can get cushy on another train ride. Just for now. By the way, the novel is now just over a quarter finished! Woohoo!
