It only took me several years, but I’ve included a favicon at last onto this blog. I can’t believe I never did. I think it’s a pretty nice favicon as well!

It matches the site and will probably even look great on an iPhone or iPod Touch. So, with that off my chest, I’d like to announce my latest work – I’ve been doing quite a bit of work for IBE Workshop, a product development class I’m taking the semester. The product my team of four has been tasked with developing is a humidifier for vehicles such as cars and trucks. I’ve created a brand image and company identity for this product – I call it Vënti. And we’ve got a website, too.

Vënti will, with any luck, be the most versatile humidifier for any vehicle out there – but we’re still making big changes to the device, and we’ll have a working prototype made by the end of the course. I’m actually incredibly excited to see this amazing yet simple device come to life after the entire design and development process. We’re moving forward into business at the moment, so I’m pretty much settled on a design for the product. I’ll have much more to show about Vënti in the coming weeks, so watch out for that!

On the side, I’d like to mention that I’m 20% through editing The Typist! I’ve never gotten this far into editing a novel before. I’m going to finish this one, I swear it! The writing is actually half-decent – better than any novel I’ve written thus far – so I think it has real potential.

It’s over. Holy crap. I don’t think I’ve ever been more satisfied with any novel I’ve ever written, or more frightened by the sheer size and scope of the universe I’ve created. I’m going to create a cover, back cover, and spine for this story and get myself a couple of LuLu copies, then call it a day. It’s been one hell of a NaNoWriMo 2008.

Tomorrow will be the last day anyone spends in Talos – well, kind of. It’s time to wrap this baby up in a neat bow. The next three days will be crazy stuff! I paced the floor for hours and wrote in my journal for MORE hours trying to figure out how to properly transition into the War Arc and the ending, which are really one in the same thing. But I think I figured out a working solution. It’s not perfect, but it’ll tie everything up in the end. Just wait and see! (On a side note, sorry for posting this late – classes and choir have me tied up. I falsely put the date of yesterday on this. But yeah, I am posting it a day late. :P)

Due to the absolutely overwhelming amount of work I had yesterday, coupled with choir rehearsal, I was not able to write. Tomorrow and the day after that will both be 5,000-word days to catch up.

NaNoFiMo, or National Novel Finishing Month, takes place during December – it’s for all of the people like me who didn’t quite get it done, and isn’t really any sort of official anything. My NaNoFiMo finishes this Saturday. The war arc has officially begun! Oh, there are some exciting things about to happen.

The Cydia arc is pretty much over! A nice local climax marks the end of their adventures in Cydia. Lots and lots of stuff happening in this writing – like I said, this is going to extend out for six more days through December 6th while I write the War arc, which is the ending of the novel. Will Talos make it? Will Cydia make it? What will happen to Earth? How the hell is Jason going to close up the gaping plotholes? Why are there so many typos? All will be explained over the next six days in… NANOWRIMO OVERTIME!

With one day left to approach 100,000 words – my goal for this crazy month – we find that our heroic trio might just have to give up searching City Square – not because they’ve found nothing, but because they’ve found too much. Graham is thrust out of consciousness and into The Collective, and the end of the Cydia arc begins. You’ll see a huge transition in the next writing as I take the situation from one world to three worlds – Cydia, Talos, and Earth.

I’ll hit 100,000 tomorrow, and continue writing until December 6th, when I’ll reach the novel’s ending at no less than 120,000 words. It’s been an awesome November!
